About EMSCULPT®
EMSCULPT uses high-intensity focused electromagnetic (HIFEM) technology to stimulate powerful muscle contractions. (2) This technology allows for muscle contractions at an intensity that is essentially unachievable through traditional exercise—the muscles typically contract more than 20,000 times per session.
Each treatment session lasts about 30 minutes and can address areas like the abdomen, buttocks, thighs, arms, calves, and more. EMSCULPT is cleared by the FDA.
Benefits
EMSCULPT is associated with many benefits, including:
- Builds lean muscle and reduces fat simultaneously
- Does not require incisions, needles, or general anesthesia
- Only requires short 30-minute sessions that can fit easily into schedules
- Has essentially no downtime
- Creates noticeable results after just a few sessions
- Is clinically proven to yield results
- Is safe and effective for most patients
- Can address multiple areas, including the abdomen, buttocks, thighs, arms, calves, and more
Ideal Candidates
EMSCULPT is designed to suit a wide range of candidates. However, those who see the best results are:
- Close to their target body weight
- In general good health
- Lead a healthy lifestyle, including regular exercise and a balanced diet
- Seeking noninvasive body sculpting options
- Realistic in their expectations
Personal Consultation
Before starting your EMSCULPT series, you will have a personal consultation with one of our specialists. During this visit, your aesthetician will review your medical history, assess your problem areas, and discuss your goals in detail. This will help them determine whether EMSCULPT is appropriate for you and how many sessions may be required to achieve your desired results.
They will also take time to explain how EMSCULPT works, what you can expect during each session, and any steps you may need to take before treatment. This consultation is a great opportunity to ask questions and learn about other treatments that may complement EMSCULPT.

Preparation
EMSCULPT requires very little preparation compared to surgical body contouring procedures. Before treatment, we will provide basic instructions to help you get the most out of your session. This may include guidance to:
- Avoid heavy meals before your appointment
- Stay well hydrated leading up to treatment
- Avoid applying lotions or oils to the treatment area
- Wear loose, comfortable clothing to your appointment
Procedure
On the day of your treatment, you will lie down comfortably while your specialist places the EMSCULPT device over the predetermined areas. The applicator delivers high-intensity focused electromagnetic energy to the muscles, triggering thousands of powerful muscle contractions. These contractions are much more intense than what can be achieved through voluntary exercise and work deep into the muscle fibers to promote growth and fat metabolism.
Each session lasts approximately 30 minutes. Your specialist will monitor your comfort level throughout the session so that you have a great experience.
Recovery
One of the main reasons EMSCULPT has become such a popular treatment is the lack of recovery time required. Unlike invasive procedures that require rest and downtime, EMSCULPT allows patients to return to their usual routines immediately. You may feel sore in the treated areas for a day or two, but this is normal and typically subsides quickly. Patients typically describe the sensation after treatment as similar to that caused by an intense workout rather than painful.
There are no restrictions after treatment, so you can resume exercise and other physical activities as soon as you feel comfortable doing so. Your aesthetician will provide any additional aftercare instructions you need to support your results, including lifestyle recommendations or additional treatments.
Results
EMSCULPT delivers noticeable improvements in muscle tone and fat reduction over the course of just a few sessions. While some patients report enhanced definition after just one treatment, most experience optimal results after about six treatments spaced five to ten days apart.
EMSCULPT has high patient satisfaction rates; many individuals report improved confidence after achieving impressive results after their recommended treatment series. (2)
To maintain results, some patients choose to schedule maintenance sessions every few months. In any case, we encourage our patients to stick to a regular exercise routine that targets all the areas they want to see improvements in. Patients should also eat healthily to support their bodies even after they achieve their goal results. Hydration is a huge part of this, so make sure to drink plenty of water throughout the day so that you can be your best self!

FAQ
What areas can EMSCULPT treat?
EMSCULPT is most often used to treat the abs and glutes.
Is EMSCULPT safe?
EMSCULPT is clinically proven, FDA-cleared, and considered safe when performed by trained professionals.
How many EMSCULPT treatments do I need?
Most patients achieve optimal results after a series of six treatments spaced about five to ten days apart.
Does EMSCULPT hurt?
The treatment is not considered painful, but you will feel strong muscle contractions, causing some discomfort. However, it does not require anesthesia. Patients are able to communicate their comfort levels throughout the session.
How long do EMSCULPT results last?
Results can last anywhere from six months to a year, depending on your lifestyle. After the initial series concludes, some patients choose to have maintenance sessions every once in a while to support long-term definition. Maintenance treatments and healthy habits can help preserve your outcome. Your specialist can provide you with lifestyle recommendations if you would like.
Can EMSCULPT replace diet and exercise?
No, no treatment can replace these essential considerations. We encourage all of our patients to lead healthy lives—though EMSCULPT causes the muscles to contract, it is no replacement for traditional exercise that will support your health and longevity. EMSCULPT complements a healthy lifestyle for patients who want to see a boost of definition in targeted muscle groups. The treatment works best when patients are on top of a regular exercise routine and adhering to a balanced diet.
When will I see results from EMSCULPT?
Patients may notice some improvements in definition after just one session, but the most dramatic results typically appear a few weeks after the final treatment in the EMSCULPT series. Specialists typically recommend a series of four treatments spaced a few days apart for the best results. Patient experiences may vary.
Is there any downtime after EMSCULPT?
There is essentially no downtime associated with EMSCULPT. You can return to work or your daily routine immediately after your session. You may feel a little sore, so you might want to wait to resume any intense exercise until you are comfortable, but this is entirely up to you. Most patients actually describe the sensation they experience after the procedure as similar to how it feels the day after a strenuous workout. This means the treatment is working, and your muscles contracted in a way that will create impressive definition by the end of your EMSCULPT series.
