Paul J. Leahy, MD
Dr. Leahy grew up in the Kansas City area and comes from three generations of physicians. He attended Rockhurst High School, and received an undergraduate degree from the University of Kansas and a graduate degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He then completed medical school at the University of Kansas Medical Center and remained there for a six-year residency in plastic surgery.
Along with Monarch’s team of doctors, nurses, aestheticians, and support staff, Dr. Leahy can provide care in all aspects of cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery. Cosmetic procedures that are particularly interesting to him include breast augmentation, tummy tuck, and a variety of in-office procedures (done under local anesthesia) such as eyelid and facial rejuvenation (Monarch Mini-Lift) and Smartlipo.
The reconstructive procedures that Dr. Leahy finds most rewarding are breast reconstruction after cancer, managing skin cancer defects on the face, and facial fractures. Surgery of the hand is also a significant portion of Dr. Leahy's practice such as traumatic injuries, carpal tunnel syndrome, and Dupuytren's disease (contraction of the palm and fingers).
Dr. Leahy is known for having a very personal and comforting style. He will take time to help you understand your problem, along with the pros and cons of each treatment option in order to best meet your goals.
