Minimally Invasive Cheek Lift

As we age, gravity and chronic exposure to the sun take their toll, most notably on the face. The soft tissues in the middle of the face sag, leading to a hollowing of the lower eyelids and the sagging of the cheeks. Standard face and neck lift procedures are unable to elevate the malar (cheek) fat and the folds that develop between the nose and corner of the mouth (nasolabial fold). A cheek lift (mid face lift) may use sutures under the skin to elevate the natural fat pads of the mid-face to provide a youthful mid-face elevation without scars or the longer recovery time of a full facelift. A mid face lift may also be performed in combination with other procedures to provide a more comprehensive youthful appearance.

A mid face lift will create a softer, more youthful cheek position. In many cases it will minimize the deep hollows below the eyes, and reduce the look of heaviness of the nasolabial fold (smile lines from nose to outer lips).

The procedure is performed under general anesthesia in a hospital or surgical center. For the first few days after surgery, patients experience swelling and facial tightness. This is relieved by cold compresses, elevation and pain medication.
