Injectable Fillers - Juvederm/Restylane/Cosmoplast
Facial aging occurs as a result of many factors including sun exposure, heredity and life style. As we age, the natural support layers, including collagen, break down resulting in the formation of wrinkles.
Fillers may be used to enhance or restore facial contours, or reduce the appearance of creases or wrinkles.
Collagen is a natural protein. Frequently it is injected into the lip and lip border for enhancement. It lasts from two to four months.
Restylane/Juvaderm are forms of Hyaluronic acid, a natural occurring substance in the body. These fillers are most frequently injected into the nasolabial fold, deeper wrinkles, lips and concave scars. These products may last six months or longer.
Human Fat harvested from the patient’s own body can be re-injected to enhance facial or lip fullness and fill deep creases. This is a more extensive procedure than injecting other fillers. Results may last up to a year and are variable.
