Arm Reduction

An arm reduction, or arm lift, is a surgical procedure that reduces excess sagging skin and tightens the supportive tissue in the upper arms. An arm reduction, technically known as brachioplasty, can also remove localized pockets of fat that cannot be corrected with exercise.

The best candidates for an arm reduction

The best candidates for arm lifts are people who are looking for improvement, not perfection, in the way they look. Patients who are physically healthy, psychologically stable, and realistic in their expectations may be good candidates for brachioplasty.

What are the benefits of an arm lift?

As with other forms of cosmetic surgery, an arm reduction can help people feel better about their appearance and improve their self-confidence. An arm reduction can also reduce irritation caused by excess skin, and can increase wardrobe options for people who are unhappy with the appearance of their upper arms.

What can you expect from your arm reduction consultation?

During your consultation with Monarch Plastic Surgery, you and your surgeon will work together to create a custom treatment plan based on your individual goals. Your surgeon will explain your options for arm lift surgery, such as the amount and exact location of skin to be removed, as well as placement of the incision.

How does an arm reduction work?

During your arm reduction surgery, your doctor will place an incision either on the inside or the back of the arm. Excess fat will be removed or treated with liposuction. Your doctor will tighten the underlying tissue and remove any excess skin before smoothing your skin over the new contour of your arm.
